These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the APIs and services (including the Logo API, Aviation Data API, Carbon Emissions API, and related endpoints) provided by logostream (collectively, the "API"). By using the API, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Access and Use
1.1 API Access
- Access is granted via a personal API key, which must not be shared or resold.
- The API is intended for business customers only.
1.2 Permitted Use
- You may use the API only for legal and authorized business purposes.
- Logos may only be used informatively or for identifying companies and assets (Fair Use).
- Excessive usage, scraping, or resale may result in immediate termination of access.
- The rate limits and monthly request quotas published in the Documentation form an integral part of these Terms. Exceeding them constitutes a breach.
- Systematic enumeration of the catalogue — retrieving assets or records beyond the demand generated by your own product's end users, whether in a single operation or through repeated retrieval over time — is not permitted use.
2. License and Rights
- The Provider grants a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use the API in accordance with these Terms.
- Third-Party IP: Logos and other content belong to third parties. The Provider does not transfer ownership, and you are responsible for lawful use.
- You agree not to infringe the rights of third parties, including trademarks and copyrights.
2.3 Caching and Local Storage
- The maximum permitted local caching duration for logo assets depends on your plan, as published on the Pricing page (Free: no caching, logos must be requested live on each use; Startup: up to 24 hours; Pro and Enterprise: custom terms as agreed). These limits form an integral part of these Terms per Section 1.2. Where caching is permitted, the cache must be refreshed from the API once the applicable duration has elapsed.
- Beyond such temporary caching, you may not:
- retain a permanent copy of a substantial part of the catalogue;
- extract or re-utilise substantial parts of the database, either in a single operation or through the repeated and systematic retrieval of insubstantial parts;
- build, or assist any third party in building, a competing or independent dataset derived from API responses;
- redistribute retrieved assets other than as an integral part of your own end-user-facing product.
2.4 Database Rights
- The catalogue made available through the API — including the mapping of IATA/ICAO codes to airlines, airports, aircraft types, liveries and brand attributes, and its selection, arrangement, verification and ongoing maintenance — constitutes a database within the meaning of Sections 87a et seq. of the German Copyright Act (UrhG) and Directive 96/9/EC. The Provider is the maker of that database.
- Nothing in these Terms transfers any right in the database itself. The licence granted is limited to querying the API in accordance with these Terms and does not include the right to extract or re-utilise the database or substantial parts of it.
- This section is independent of the third-party rights in individual logos described in Section 2.
3. Fees & Payment
- The API may be paid or free (e.g., Logo API free with attribution).
- Payment is based on individual agreements: annual subscription or pay-per-use.
- Subscriptions can be terminated at the end of the current billing cycle.
- Free-plan use requires visible attribution reading "Logos by logostream", hyperlinked to https://logostream.dev, on each page or screen where the assets are displayed, or in the credits or about section of the application.
- The attribution must be visible without user interaction and must not be obscured, and the hyperlink must be crawlable.
- Removal of attribution requires a paid plan.
4. Liability and Warranty
- The API is provided "as is".
- No guarantees are made regarding availability, accuracy, or completeness of the data.
- Users assume full responsibility for the use and interpretation of the API data.
- The Provider is not liable for any damages resulting from API use.
4a. Carbon Emission Calculations — Specific Disclaimer
- Carbon emission calculations provided through the API (including the
/v1/carbonendpoint) are based on the ICAO Carbon Emissions Calculator v13.1 methodology and are provided for informational purposes only. - Calculation results do not constitute legal, financial, regulatory, or compliance advice and do not represent a certified or audited sustainability output.
- Users are solely responsible for validating calculation results with qualified sustainability professionals, auditors, or legal advisors before incorporating them into regulatory disclosures, ESG reports, CSRD filings, GHG Protocol inventories, CDP submissions, or any other compliance documentation.
- The accuracy of results depends on the quality and correctness of input data provided by the user (origin/destination IATA codes, cabin class, aircraft type). The Provider makes no warranty regarding fitness for any specific regulatory purpose.
- The Provider is not liable for any regulatory penalties, audit findings, reporting errors, or third-party claims arising from the use of carbon calculation outputs in compliance processes.
5. Compliance and Fair Use
- Use must be lawful and in accordance with Fair Use principles.
- Logos may only be used to identify companies, stocks, or assets, or in portfolio displays.
- Any misuse may result in immediate termination of access.
6. Termination
- Upon termination or expiration of the agreement, your right to access the API ceases immediately.
- Within 30 days of termination you must delete all API responses stored on your systems, including caches, backups created for the purpose of retention, and any derived datasets. This does not apply to individual assets already embedded in published, immutable output, nor where retention is required by mandatory law.
- Upon request, you shall confirm deletion in text form.
- Any outstanding fees are due immediately.
- Sections 2 (License and Rights, including 2.3 and 2.4), 4 (Liability and Warranty), 5 (Compliance and Fair Use), 6 (Termination) and 8 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction) survive termination.
7. Changes to Terms
- Material changes to these Terms will be communicated by email to the address associated with your account at least 30 days before they take effect.
- If you object in text form before the effective date, you may terminate at the end of the current billing cycle; until then the previous version continues to apply.
- Editorial changes without effect on the parties' rights and obligations take effect upon publication.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
- For merchants within the meaning of the German Commercial Code, the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from this agreement is Fulda, Germany.
